The CaCi Jowl lift facial uses new Quad Probe applicators designed to double the lifting action of the CaCi treatment system thereby enhancing results and reducing treatment time.

This 15 minute facial treatment helps to improve the appearance of sagging jowls by using the Quad Probes which have been specifically developed to target the muscles around the jawline.

The Quad Probes emit tiny electrical impulses to lift, firm and redefine facial contours.

To maximise the firming effect, the Quad Probes are used in conjunction with unique serum filled cotton buds that contain a powerful skin firming formulation.

The CaCi Jowl lift treatment is completely painless, although some clients may experience a slight tingling sensation or metallic taste, which is perfectly normal.

CACI HYDRATONE TREATMENT

Hydratone combines active micro-current rollers with a unique, electrically conductive silicon gel mask that has been infused with powerful hydrating properties. The rollers gently massage the face causing the mask to become electrically charged so that the whole face is bathed with rejuvenating energy.

The energy delivered by the rollers recharges and replenishes the bio-electrical energy within the facial muscles, restoring tone and firmness.

The energy generated also drives the hydrating actives contained within the gel mask deep into the skin tissue. The gel mask has a dramatic softening action helping to plump out and smooth deep lines and wrinkles.

The Hydratone procedure takes just 10 minutes to perform yet provides immediate and intensive skin hydration and face firming.

CAC_IMG1CACI Ultimate Guide

CACI International non-surgical treatments are one of the little known secrets behind many older celebrities retention of youthful looks. CACI has been endorsed by celebs such as Cliff Richard, Barbara Windsor, Jennifer Lopez, Lisa Snowdon and Madonna to name but a few.

We have upgraded our CACI machine to a CACI Ultimate, which means we can continue to provide the treatments many have come to know and love, with the addition of CACI’s ground breaking Microdermabrasion treatments.

We all know that we can’t fend off the aging process forever even with all the age-defying lotions and potions at our disposal. Clients often ask – is there a real alternative to going under the knife? Our answer is yes you can hold back the clock even if thou none of us can can’t beat it. The answer lays in CACI’s advanced non-invasive, anti-wrinkle and rejuvenating technologies.

CACI have been developing and manufacturing leading edge non-surgical treatment equipment for 20 years. Their systems have been proven to enhance facial contours, reduce deep lines and wrinkles as well as tackling a whole range of other skin imperfections.

The CACI Ultimate is the first treatment system to provides a combination of micro-current facial toning, crystal free microdermabrasion and LED photo rejuvenation. For best results CACI recommend a course of between 10 and 15 treatments in 5 to 6 weeks, but you will notice your skin feels tighter and fresher following your first treatment. Through the careful application of controlled micro currents your facial muscles are actually re-educated, each treatment continues to improve your natural features.

Micro-current stimulation delivers tiny electrical impulses that mirror the body’s own natural bio electrical field. In most cases, treatment is virtually sub-sensory, causing a slight electrical tingling sensation.

Originally developed for treating facial palsy Micro-current therapy is now also used widely in physiotherapy for pain control and in hospitals for wound healing. As an aesthetic treatment micro-current stimulation has been shown to have a number of other cosmetic benefits:

re-educates musclesYes it does increases blood and lymph circulationYes it does enhances the penetration of the active ingredients of skin care formulations
Yes it does increases the production of collagen and elastin
Yes it does increases protein synthesis, gluconeogenesis and cell membrane transport
Yes it doesincreases mitochondria activityYes it does adenosine triphosphate (ATP)Yes it does

Micro current in aesthetics is commonly described as “facial toning or non surgical face lifting” due to the dramatic lifting effect that micro-current has on facial muscles and facial contours.

True micro-current uses a current with an intensity of less than one millionth of an amp (< 1mA) and because of it’s low intensity it does not cause a physical or visual contraction of the muscle,
instead, micro-current stimulation works by a process called muscle re-education.

Combining ultra low frequencies with a modified waveform enables the micro-current to recharge the electrical potential of the muscle by stimulating the spindle cell fibers that run the length of the muscle and attach to the golgi tendon organ in the belly of the muscle. This golgi tendon organ (GTO) simulation technique was developed by Dr George Goodheart in the late 60’s.

During treatment all 32 facial muscles are physically manipulated using soft cotton tipped wands (probes) or other attachments that transmit the micro-current impulses.

With careful application the micro-current can be applied in a way which will cause the muscle to lengthen/relaxing muscles which contracted over years of facial expression (frown lines). Alternatively the current can be applied to cause a shortening effect, which is necessary for the majority of muscles which have elongated over time as a result of ageing and gravity.

Although a remarkable difference is seen after the first treatment, the benefits of micro-current are cumulative and typically a course of 12 treatments will be required for optimum results.

CAC_IMGFacial Toning micro current

As we age our facial muscles naturally start to lose tone and elasticity. Genetics, lifestyle, weight fluctuation and environmental factors all influence the rate and degree to which our muscles will lose their tone. As we get older we often lose confidence; we all like to leave a good first impressions and a sagging face can make you look tired, miserable and older than your years. CACI Internationals 20 plus years of research and development allows us to offer a non surgical solution to combat loss of muscle tone using their micro-current facial toning therapy.

Today this proven technology is now available in thousands of aesthetic clinics and beauty salons as a painless cosmetic treatment, commonly referred to as “facial toning” or “the non surgical face lift”.

During each 1 hour treatment session all 32 facial muscles are gently manipulated and re-educated by a trained therapist using a series of precise movements. Soft cotton tipped wands are used on the face to transmit the micro-current energy to the facial muscles restoring tone and elasticity.

Results are visible after the very first treatment but a course of twelve treatments is generally recommended for best results. After a course of CACI facial toning treatments facial contours will look lifted and toned.

After completing a full course you will only need a monthly top up treatment to maintain results. If you have an important event or function to attend you can have a CACI treatment a day or so ahead to make sure you look your best.

As we grow older, the automatic process of exfoliation and cell renewal slows down. Sometimes the body needs a little help. Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion.

The removal of the dead skin cells reveals the softer more youthful looking skin cells below.

The superficial abrasion of the skin also triggers the body’s own natural repair mechanism which triggers the production of new collagen and releases glycoaminoglycans in order to rehydrate and replenish the recently abraded area. This has a remarkable softening action on surface lines and wrinkles.

The procedure is not very painful and requires no anesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars.

Microdermabrasion can also be used to treat sun-damaged skin and to improve acne but must be repeated periodically to be effective. Different microdermabrasion methods are used to exfoliate the skin.

Traditional crystal based Microdermabrasion treatments uses a fine mist of exfoliating crystals directed onto the skin surface. The used crystals and dead skin cells are then removed by vacuumed into a filter and finally discarded.

The speed at which the hand piece is moved across the skin surface and the abrasiveness of the crystals used will determine the depth of abrasion. Aluminium oxide crystals are irregular in shape and provide an aggressive skin exfoliation. Quartz silica crystals are perfectly round microspheres that are less harsh on the skin and provide a gentle exfoliation, skin polishing and refining action on the skin.

The CACI Ultimate ‘Orbital Microdermabarsion’ uses a hand piece that rotates at different speeds on an elliptical axis. Instead of using exfoliating crystals, orbital abrasion utilizes a selection of disposable, abrasive treatment tips coated with a layer of silicon carbide to either superficially or deeply exfoliate the stratum corneum. The orbital rotation of the abrasive treatment tip performs a progressive and controlled skin exfoliation and polishes and massages the skin at the same time. The speed of rotation, the abrasiveness of the treatment tip selected and the speed at which the hand piece is moved across the skin surface determines the depth of abrasion.

Light Therapy Lines and Wrinkles

Facial wrinkles are caused by a number of factors:

Wrinkles diagDynamic lines – these are wrinkles that are caused by contraction of the muscles of facial expression. Repeated compression of the skin along these lines breaks down the collagen fibres which support the skin to form specific lines and wrinkles. Initially, these wrinkles can only be seen when the muscles contract e.g when you smile/frown, however, as the skin becomes progressively creased, the lines may often appear as a perminantly visible feature while your muscles are at rest.

Loss of facial volume – When we are younger, our face is more plump and full as time passes, this volume is lost. Fat around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead are depleted. This loss of volume leads to some bagginess of skin and the formation of wrinkles. Loss of facial volume also results in an older, more gaunt appearance, as is often seen with dramatic weight loss. Microcurrent Non-surgical facial toning can help to replace this lost volume – improving both wrinkles and the overall youthfulness of the face.

Gravity – The inescapable pull of gravity draws the skin downwards on the face. This leads to drooping of the cheeks and formation of nasolabial lines (the lines from the corners of the mouth to the nose) and jowls, drooping of the eye skin and formation of upper and lower lid laxity and wrinkles.

Sleep lines – These are caused by the compression of the skin from contact of the pillow to the face when sleeping. Their location is determined by the underlying attachments of the muscles of the face. Pillow contact puts pressure on these attachments and causes sleep lines. Sleep lines can often be found on the forehead, around the eyes, cheeks and upper lip, and are not created by muscle contraction.

Other External Factors – Sun damage, smoking and poor diet can also cause a thinning of the skin, de-hydration and a break down of collagen leading to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin re-surfacing technologies such as Microdermabrasion, and the ultrasonic peel can help to reduce the signs of premature lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of new collagen. Hydrating treatments like Hydratone can help to re-hydrate the skin and plump out and fill deep lines and wrinkles.

CAC_FEATURE1Light Therapy

The application of light as a treatment therapy is termed “Phototherapy” derived from the measurement of light energy in units of photons.

LightLight energy is in every nerve, cell, gland and muscle of the body and each emits its own unique frequency vibration. When the body becomes out of balance (due to age, health, environment, lifestyle or other external factors) the frequency vibration within the cells is affected and this disruption can lead to signs of ageing, skin conditions, illness and disease.

Each colour wavelength of light has a specific and unique frequency vibration. Specific light wavelengths have a bio stimulatory action on the cells which can be used to effectively normalize cellular imbalances and treat a number of skin conditions.

There are now numerous scientific studies on the effect of phototherapy in the healing of acne and other skin conditions.

NASA have recently conducted studies on the use of red LED light for the enhancement of cell growth and found that the application of specific wavelengths of light increased fibroblast activity and enhanced DNA synthesis leading to the production of new collagen.

A follow up study by Wisconsin Medical College demonstrated that the specific wavelengths of red LED light could be used to accelerate wound healing.

The American Academy of Dermatology has reported that blue light can be used to destroy the bacteria that produces the inflammation associated with propionbacterium acnes.

The British Journal of Dermatology has reported that the combination of specific red and blue light wavelengths can successfully treat acne. A recent study at Hammersmith Hospital demonstrated that the combination of red and blue light phototherapy for the treatment of acne produced quicker results than the application of blue light alone.

Our CACI Ultimate machine can be used for light therapy treatments. Please ask your therapist for more information and treatments advice.

Hands

You’ve buffed, scrubbed and moisturised your face into an ageless vision of youth that keeps them guessing. That is, until they notice your hands.

A classic ageing giveaway, our hands are a tell-tale indicator of our true age.

They are always in contact with the elements, household chemicals and extreme temperatures causing sun damage, dryness, chapped skin and age spots, yet our hands are often left off the list when it comes to pampering. However, it’s never too late to start caring for your hands as they respond quickly to a little TLC.

The quickest way to keep hands looking young and beautiful is to use exfoliation technology to remove the dry dead skin cells followed by an intensive moisturising treatment to leave the skin tissue firm and supple.

Stimulation of the skin tissue will also improve blood flow and circulation giving the hands a healthy and youthful glow.

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin ) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. The removal of the dead skin cells reveals the softer more youthful looking skin cells below.

The Hydratone treatment uses a moisture infused gel mask to bathe the skin with intensive hydrating actives. De-hydrated skin is immediately quenched by the hydrating properties of the mask. The Hydratone mask also has a softening action that helps to plump out and smooth the skin.

Skin Hydration

Sun damage, poor diet and an unsatisfactory skin care regimen can lead to dry, flakey, dehydrated skin. Dry skin can lead to premature ageing, the break down of collagen and the formation of lines and wrinkles. The skin will take on a dull, greyish and devitalized appearance. As the skin tries to compensate for dryness the sebaceous (oil producing) glands will try to lubricate the skin and in so doing pores may become clogged and black heads and acne pustules may result.

HydratoneIn short, good skin hydration is essential in order to maintain a healthy and youthful complexion.

The Hydratone facial treatment uses a moisture infused gel mask to bathe the skin with intensive hydrating actives. De-hydrated and sun damaged skin is immediately quenched by the hydrating properties of the mask. The Hydratone mask also has a softening action on the skin tissue that helps to plump out and smooth lines and wrinkles.

Stretchmarks

Stretch marks or striae are a form of scarring. They are caused by tearing of the dermis. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (e.g. pregnancy or muscle building).

Stretch marks occur in the dermis, the resilient middle layer that helps the skin retain its shape. Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, but are most likely to appear in places where larger amounts of fat are stored.

The glucocorticoid hormones responsible for the development of stretch marks affect the epidermis by preventing the fibroblasts from forming collagen and elastin fibers, necessary to keep rapidly growing skin taut. This creates a lack of supportive material, as the skin is stretched and leads to dermal and epidermal tearing.

Stretch marks can be treated using skin abrasion treatment technology. A superficial abrasion of the skin tissue triggers the body’s own natural repair mechanism which stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. Consequently skin abrasion technology can have a remarkable softening action on stretchmarks. Although unlikely to completely remove the stretch marks a course of skin abrasion treatments should certainly cause stretch marks to significantly fade.

Generally the newer the stretch mark the greater will be the response to skin abrasion treatments.

Microdermabrasion Acne/Blemishes

All acne is a disorder of the sebaceous glands. Sebaceous glands produce a substance called sebum, which is responsible for keeping the skin moisturized. During adolescence sebaceous glands enlarge and produce more sebum under the influence of hormones, also called androgens. After about age 20, sebum production begins to decrease.

Problems arise when the sebum becomes trapped in the skin and hair follicles. The sebum is produced but gets trapped on the way out, and the cells that are normally sloughed off become “sticky”, plugging up the follicle. The process of obstructing follicles is called comedogenesis. It causes some follicles to form a type of acne called comedones, also known as blackheads and whiteheads.

Treatment methods that slough off the dead skin cells like Microdermabrasion can prevent sebum from becoming trapped in the follicles. These exfoliation methods also help to unblock obstructed follicles by removing the comedones.

A bacteria, known as Propionibacterium acnes, is a normal inhabitant of the skin. It uses sebum as a nutrient for growth, therefore increases in follicles during puberty. People with acne have more Propionibacterium acnes in their follicles than people without acne. The presence of bacteria attracts white blood cells to the follicle.

This process causes an inflammatory response seen as papules (red bumps), pustules, and nodules. The bacteria also cause the formation of free fatty acids, which are irritants, increasing the inflammatory process in the follicle. The American Academy of Dermatology has reported that blue LED Light Therapy can be used to destroy the bacteria that produces the inflammation associated with propionbacterium acnes.
